Summary
The Training Factory Maturity Guide provides a structured and practical approach to transform brownfield Training Factories (TFs) from operational training environments into Multi-Level Development Platforms (MLDPs). Its goal is to reduce social waste and improve coherence across management levels through effective Learning and Development strategies. The guide employs an iterative process cycle – based on research-by-design, systematically enhancing TF maturity across five key aspects by aligning goals, activities, and assessments with organizational resources. Central to the approach is the concept of ‘learning from learning’, positioning the TF as an experimental space for exploring scenarios. This includes learning from peers, scenarios, and the transformation process itself, generating insights that improve efficiency and support decision-making for formal processes such as SOPs and ERP systems. Usability and intended functionality were validated through internal and industrial case studies, demonstrating the guide’s clarity, collaborative potential, and repeatability for multi-purpose TF applications.
