Summary

The thesis regards experiments involving samples of magnetocaloric material (MCM), submerged in Liquid Metal (LM) EGaInSn, which were introduced to a powerful permanent magnet. This magnetisation increases the temperature of the MCM, and therefore the temperature of the mixture. The temperature increase is compared to theoretical values, and results are concluded for reference to future research focusing on using LM in Active Magnetic Regenerators. This development could aid in the increase of efficiency and cooling power of previous and upcoming prototypes, increasing the possibility of the use of active-magnetic regenrator technology in magnetocaloric cooling devices in the future.
