Samenvatting

Net congestion is an increasing concern, especially with the increase in electrification. Multiple parties are working on solutions in different ways. Part of these solutions is focused on energy and power consumption management within buildings. DWA specifically uses a power profile generator to predict power consumption to be able to manage consumption and predict the needed grid connection. The focus of this research is on improving this power profile for offices to enable optimisation within the capacity of the office grid connection. To understand which categories have the biggest impact on the power consumption of offices, an analysis was done based on DWA office consumption data. Based on this analysis, it was found that the biggest improvements on the power consumption profile could be made by adding load predictions of electric vehicle charging stations. The use of electric vehicles is increasing, especially in the Netherlands. With this increase, more and more buildings are adding charging stations, which has a big impact on the grid connection. A literature review focused on load prediction modelling showed which models and parameters can be used to make load predictions for charging stations. Based on this research and a comparison with the data from DWA, a model was designed for DWA to use as an addition to their power profile generator. This model uses both power-consumption and charging-behaviour data, as research shows the importance of charging behaviour on the load prediction.
