Samenvatting
The increasing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) underscores the importance of robust battery thermal management systems (BTMS) to ensure optimal performance, longevity, and safety of EV batteries. Thermal Interface Materials (TIMs) play a crucial role in enhancing heat transfer efficiency within BTMS. However, the effectiveness of conventional TIMs can be compromised by factors such as vibration-induced variations in contact area. This research proposes a novel solution using a foam-filled aluminum structure to address this challenge. The study involves creating numerical models to understand heat flux in these structures, practical experimentation to validate manufacturing feasibility, and a comparative analysis of traditional and experimental TIMs. By leveraging 3D printed foams, this research aims to contribute insights into improving thermal management in EV technology.
This study investigates the thermal conductivity of structured materials through a comparison of analytical and computational models.
